GEORGINE MAE SCHRAM (CARTWRIGHT) It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Georgine Mae Schram Cartwright on May 13, 2005 at the Health Sciences Centre. Born on Friday, February 13, 1925, Georgie died Friday at the age of 80 after a long and remarkable life. Survived by her children, Lauren, Gordon (Susan) and Tracy (Wayne) and her grandchildren, Jennifer, Brennan, Ainsley and Sarah, she also leaves her nieces and nephews, Nancy, Jay, Kelly, Nola, Dawn and Winnifred and their families as well as her cousins and family in Ireland. She was predeceased by her father Wilfred, mother Nellie, sisters, Helen and Betty, brother Buddy, nephews, Ricky and Darren and her two faithful companions - her dogs, Irish and Buddy. Georgie will be missed by her lifelong friend June McKain of Fort Worth, Texas, the girls in the bridge club, and many friends and neighbours whose lives she touched and whose lives touched hers. Georgie cherished the many family celebrations, Christmas dinners, birthdays and special events that were so much a part of her life. She was born and raised in Winnipeg and lived life to the fullest. Throughout her life she struggled with asthma but never allowed it to interfere with what she wanted to do. She was both a stay at home mom and a business partner and support to her husband Lorne in his business ventures. An avid reader, Georgie loved music, travelling, summers at the lake and good times spent with others. She was outgoing, vivacious, loved to laugh and committed to her family and friends. She has left behind many who will love and miss her and who are better for having known her. May the road rise to meet you. May the wind be always at your back. May the sun shine warm upon your face. May the rains fall soft upon your fields. And until we meet again, May God hold you in the hollow of His hand. Our family would like to thank the staffs at both St. Boniface Hospital and the Health Sciences Centre for their care and support over the past three months as Georgie battled the complications caused by her asthma and pneumonia. A celebration of Georgie's life will take place Tuesday, May 17 at 2:00 p.m. at Thomson's Funeral Chapel on Broadway. Should you desire, contributions may be made to the Winnipeg Humane Society or The Manitoba Lung Association. THOMSON FUNERAL HOME 783-7211

What a spice of life Georgie was, and one who beat to a different drum. I will not forget your exuberance and your infectious laugh. Thanks for contributing to the joy of the world. Say hello to my mom and dad. - Posted by: Shirley Dudeck (Friend) on: May 21, 2005
