CARL DOBRUCKI December 9, 1922 - May 15, 2005 It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Carl Dobrucki at the Misericordia Hospital on Sunday, May 15, 2005 with his family by his side at the age of 82 years. Carl went to be with the Lord. He will be sadly missed by his beloved wife of 44 years, Maria, his son Alan and his daughter-in-law Karen, his grandsons, Jordan, Noah and Adam; three brothers-in-law and three sisters-in-law all from the U.S. and Mexico, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Carl was predeceased by his parents, Leon and Carolina in the late 50's, as well as by seven sisters and six brothers. Carl was born and lived most of his life in the Lac du Bonnet area where he farmed with his brothers, Marion and Ed and later with his son Alan. In his early adult years, Carl worked in heavy construction and carpentry in the Lac du Bonnet and surrounding areas, in Winnipeg, and as far north as Thompson, Churchill and the Dew Line. He had also worked for Atomic Energy of Canada in Pinawa before settling on the farm until his retirement. Carl and his wife Maria then moved to Winnipeg and most recently to Niverville. Carl loved sports. He especially enjoyed baseball, was fond of shuffle board and curling, and regularly won at horseshoe tournaments. He and his family travelled on numerous occasions to the U.S. and Mexico. He loved his family and his grandchildren were his pride and joy. The family extends special thanks to the doctors and staff at both the St. Boniface and Misericordia Hospitals for the wonderful care they provided for Carl. Thank you also to Chaplain Donald and the wonderful neighbours in Niverville, family and friends for your visits to the hospital, prayers and your moral support. May God bless you all. Funeral services will be held at the St. Timothy's Roman Catholic Church, 135 John Forsyth Rd. in St. Vital on Thursday, May 19 at 2:00 p.m. Private inurnment of Carl's cremated remains will take place in The Assumption Queen of Heaven Columbarium the following day.
