KATHERINE BAMBURAK It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Katherine Bamburak at Misericordia place on Saturday, May 14, 2005 at the age of 91. Katherine will be lovingly remembered by her children, Betty (Norman), Roger (Judy) and Don (Dianne); grandchildren, Robert, Patrick, Donald, Linda, Darlene, Dale, Paula, Robbie, Megan and David; great-grandchildren, Kory, Kyle, Jenna, Janelle, Cody, Emily, Sherry, Shannon, Donna, Brian, Brooke and Haylee; great-great-grandchildren, Nicholas and Paloula. Katherine will be remembered as well by her brothers, Nick and Bill; sisters, Pauline, Olga, Stella and especially her sister Julia with whom she had a very special loving bond. Katherine was predeceased by her beloved husband Paul, her parents; sisters, Mary, Rose and Nellie; and brothers, Steve and Harry. Mom was born in St. Norbert on June 10, 1913. She moved to Winnipeg at the age of 16 where she found employment as a nanny, housekeeper. She married her beloved Paul on November 5, 1935 and they were preparing to celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary at the time of his death. Mom continued to work very hard throughout her life to help support her family, finally retiring at age 63. Although often holding down two jobs, she was always able to maintain a wonderful home for family and her family was indeed the center of her life. Mom loved her Ashburn Street home where she lived for 70 years and she cared for it meticulously. She loved tending to her beautiful flowers and vegetable gardens; sitting in the backyard among the lilacs; watching the birds at her birdfeeder; drinking a glass of ice cold coke on a hot summer day or a good cup of tea all year round. She loved all animals especially her beloved cat Sniffer. Most of all, however, Mom loved her children. She was an absolutely wonderful mother who loved her children above all else and this love extended to their spouses, children and grandchildren. She was an incredible cook and her apple pie was legendary. You were always welcome in her home and you always felt better after visiting her. Regardless of the challenges Mom might be facing, her focus was always on you. She was the corner stone of our family and her passing leaves a hole in our life and our heart. We were blessed to have known her, loved her and been loved by her. The family wishes to extend their sincere thanks to the caregivers at Robin Way, Misericordia Place for the love and gentle care they provided during her stay. A celebration of life will take place on Wednesday, May 18 at 2:00 p.m. with viewing one hour prior in Thomson In the Park Funeral Home, 1291 McGillivray Blvd. Interment will be in Thomson In the Park Cemetery, 1291 McGillivray Blvd. THOMSON IN THE PARK FUNERAL HOME AND CEMETERY 1291 McGillivray Blvd - 925-1120
