DAVID LEONARD SHEWFELT Surrounded by his loving family, David Leonard Shewfelt of Manitou, MB passed away at Lorne Memorial Hospital, Swan Lake, May 15, 2005. He faced his cancer illness courageously and philosophically. David was born November 28, 1925. He is predeceased by his parents, Robert and Joanna Shewfelt; his sister Maude; and brothers, Stanley and Lorne. Dave will be greatly missed by his wife Dorothy; one daughter Lauren; two sons, Douglas and Grant; and two precious granddaughters, Leah and Jazlyn; as well as sisters-in-law, Vivian Shewfelt and Doris Shewfelt; also many cousins, numerous nieces and nephews. The family is sincerely grateful to Dr. Bruneau and the caring staff at Lorne Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be held at St. Andrew's United Church, Manitou on Wednesday, May 18 at 1:00 p.m. Interment to follow at Manitou Cemetery, Manitou. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Palliative Care Unit at Lorne Memorial Hospital, Box 40, Swan Lake, MB R0G 2S0, or to the Canadian Cancer Society, 193 Sherbrook St., Winnipeg, MB R3C 2B7.
