BENJAMIN EDWARD DEMCHUK The family of Benjamin Demchuk sadly announce his sudden passing on Sunday, May 15, 2005 at his residence. Ben was born on February 9, 1919 in Arnes, MB. Ben leaves to mourn and cherish his memory of nearly 53 years, his loving wife Irene. He will be missed so terribly by his children, Dennis (Pat), Darlene (Orie), Bernie (Keli) and Sharon (Brad); his grandchildren, Derek (Siobhaun), Chad, Brad, Jeffrey, Brent (Kristen), Ashley (Johann), Kristi (Richard), Stacey, Chantal; and his great-granddaughter Kylie. He is also survived by his sister Beatrice; brother Jacob (Eleanor); sisters-in-law, Carrie and Mary; brother-in-law Victor (Christine); as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Ben was predeceased by his parents, Nicholas and Margaret; his sister Eileen; brothers, Kazimar, Stanley, Bronislaw, Rudolph, Walter and Edward; and his father and mother-in-law, Joe and Frances Dann. Our hearts are heavy with sorrow but we are thankful to God for letting us have him for 86 years. His greatest love was for his wife Irene, a love that only grew stronger each day. The love and pride for his children and grandchildren was unconditional. His love was equal, but the special joy and pride that Chantal and her grandpa shared will be cherished forever in Chantal's heart. His will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew him. Funeral mass will be held on Wednesday, May 18 at 11:00 a.m. in the St. Michael's Roman Catholic Church, Gimli with a viewing to be held one half hour prior to mass. Interment to follow in the Gimli Community Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Ben's memory can be made to the Gimli Healing Garden, Box 250, Gimli, MB R0C 1B0. Gilbart Funeral Home, Gimli in care of arrangements.
