HOWARD WALLACE BELL 1927 - 2005 It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Howard Wallace Bell of Winnipeg, MB, following a heart attack at the St. Boniface Hospital on Sunday, May 15, 2005. He was predeceased by his parents, Russell and Muriel (Ballentyne) Bell; sister Doreen (Bell) Grant and brothers-in-law, Lloyd Ross and Lawrence Grant. He will be lovingly remembered not only by his wife and best friend, Evelyn, but brother Robert (Grace) Bell of Brandon, MB, Enid (William) Dodd of Brandon, MB and Marlene (Delbert) Mealey of Vernon, BC; many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was born in Elgin, MB on September 5, 1927. He spent his late teens and early adult years working at various jobs in and around the Elgin and Brandon area. He spent three years in Vancouver, working for an Automotive Wholesaler before returning home and moving to Winnipeg, where he took an electrical course at MTI. In 1959 he went to work for McLean Electric; then in 1963 he joined the Provincial Government where he was employed in various positions until his retirement in 1986 due to health problems. He spent his retirement years doing woodwork for friends and family. He and Evelyn spent most of their summer months out at their trailer at Miller's Camping Resort in Portage La Prairie. He enjoyed life to the fullest and will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him. His smiling face will be missed around Tuxedo Villa where he spent the last year of his life. The family would like to thank the staff at Tuxedo Villa, particularly those on Station One, and the staff of 5E Medicine of St. Boniface General Hospital for the excellent care that he received. If friends so desire, a donation in Howie's memory can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba, 200-6 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB R3L 0K6 or St. Boniface General Hospital Research Foundation, 409 Tache Ave., Winnipeg, MB R2H 2A6.
