ELSIE PETRASH (nee HANISCH) Elsie passed away peacefully at Hunter Memorial Hospital, Teulon on Monday, May 16, 2005. Predeceased by sisters, Edith Hanisch, Esther Setterland and Ella Tessier. She will be sadly missed by her husband of 48 years Gerald, and son Fred. Survived by sisters, Ethel Dadswell, Gladys Hanisch; brother Harold Hanisch; and by nieces, nephews and cousins. Elsie was born July 20, 1927 in Norris Lake district where she was raised and spent most of her life in the Teulon area. Elsie was an excellent seamstress and enjoyed painting and carpentry. She made many beautiful articles which family and friends were proud and happy to receive. Elsie enjoyed the outdoors, loved skiing and gardening, her greenhouse and her beautiful big yard and garden. She generously shared the bounty of the garden as well as many plants and flowers. She enjoyed music and dancing and could play several instruments. She liked to play cards and even made her own crib board. She was kind and gentle to people, plants and animals. She had a keen sense of fairness, a good sense of humour, was quick to laugh and smile. Visitors were always welcomed to a clean and tidy home, a good pot of coffee and her homemade cooking and baking for all occasions. Many thanks to the home care workers who came to the farm and to the doctors and nurses at Teulon Hospital. Friends may pay their respects on Thursday, May 19 from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the MacKenzie Funeral Chapel, Teulon. Funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Friday, May 20 at the MacKenzie Funeral Chapel in Teulon. MacKenzie Funeral Home, Teulon in care of arrangements.
