LILA FRASER On Monday, May 16, 2005, we lost a beautiful and gracious wife, mother, and grandmother, Lila. She died at the Riverview Health Centre, at the age of 75 years. Remaining to cherish her memory are her husband Roy, of 52 years of marriage; son Jeff in Montreal; son Don in Winnipeg; daughter Debbie (Ron) in Sooke, BC with their four children, Stephanie, Danielle, Bryan and Samantha; friend of the family Jeanine and her two children, Sophie and Daniel; sister Ruth in Winnipeg; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her mother; father; and one brother. Lila was born March 27, 1930 in Winnipegosis and spent her early years there. In her early years, she taught school at Waterhen, MB and later hairdressing at Rivers, MB. Lila married Roy in Vancouver April 11, 1953 and became part of the air force family. She worked for CSA Standards in Ottawa and spent time on other bases as well. The family moved to Winnipeg in 1965 and Lila worked for the St. James School Division as a Secretary. In 1980, she retired from the workforce and after Roy retired, they travelled to Europe, Bermuda, Hawaii and spent 14 winters in Weslaco, Texas, enjoying every minute with western dancing. The wonderful part of living in Winnipeg was her participation at Unity Church, they were all like family to Lila. A Celebration of Lila's Life will be held on Saturday, May 21 at 2:00 p.m. in Unity Church, 300 Arlington St. They that love beyond the world Cannot be separated by it. Death is but crossing the world, As friends do the seas; They live in one another still. WOJCIK'S ALL BELIEFS FAITHS FUNERAL CHAPEL CREMATORIUM 897 - 4665

Condolences & Memories (2 entries)

  • Grandma, even though you are still with us in spirit, we miss you so much! I hope you know how much you are loved and respected. I'm grateful that we got to spend such a special time together before God called you home, and I will never forget the things you've taught me. You are such a wonderful, generous, loyal, loving person, and I see the world differently because of you. Keep a bit of cloud warm for us, Grandma, and we'll join you someday! Love you always. - Posted by: Stephie (Family) on: May 25, 2005
