ASTRID SMITH (nee TUTAR) Astrid passed away quietly at home in Birds Hill, on Monday, May 16, 2005. She was born September 23, 1920 to Heinrich and Marta Tutar of Parnu, Estonia. She came to Canada in 1948 where she met and married her husband, Norman Gilmore Smith who passed away on December 8, 1983. She was predeceased by her three sisters, Greta, Gertrud and Dagmar and two brothers, Paul and Theophil. She is survived by her three daughters, Rhonda and Monica Smith, Norma Miller and one grandson Jonathan Miller. In Estonia she leaves behind two nieces, Erika and Sibille Juring, a nephew Jaan Juring, his wife Milvi and family and a cousin Haljand Mill. The family is deeply grateful for all the care and support provided by Home Care. Funeral service will be held on Friday, May 20, at 10:00 a.m. at Klassen Funeral Home, 1897 Henderson Hwy., with Rev. Marc Whitehead officiating. If friends desire, donations may be made to the Winnipeg Humane Society, 5 Kent St., R2L 1X3 or to Winnipeg Harvest, 1085 Winnipeg Ave., R3E 0S2.
