He will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by his daughter Wanda (Fred) Landry; sons, Randy (Janice) and James (Caren); his grandchildren, Carla (Dan), Tanya, Krista, Seth, Ryan, Derek, Avery, Brittany, Jeremy, and Christopher; great-grandchildren, Adrianna, Alexandria, and Allanah; brothers Ed and Eugene; and his sister Helen. Abe was predeceased by his wife Elvira in 1996; brothers Pete, Harry, and Dan; and sisters Annie and Nettie. Abe was born in Morden to John and Margaret Giesbrecht. He spent his childhood years on the family farm south of Morden. In November of 1957 he married Elvira, and they moved to Winnipeg where they had their three children. In 1970 the family moved to Morris where he was employed as superintendent at Flyer Industries. Dad spent 36 years in the bus industry working for Thiessen Bus Lines Ltd., Flyer Industries Ltd., Grey Goose Bus Lines Ltd., and Grey Goose Corporation Ltd. His favourite pastimes were fishing, golfing, camping, and gardening with his wife. Abe and Elvira, and later Abe, provided a loving Christian home where family and friends were always welcome. With faith in God Abe persevered through hard times, enjoyed many good times, and blessed those around him with his never failing willingness to help people, and his unique humour. The family would like to extend deep thanks to Dr. Manness and the outstanding palliative care at the Morris Hospital for the understanding and care shown to Abe and his family. If friends so desire, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society. The funeral service will be held at the Morris Fellowship Chapel on Saturday, May 21 at 11:00 a.m. Following a reception, interment will take place at the Winkler Cemetery. There will be viewing at Morris Funeral Home on Friday from 7:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., and at the church, prior to the service. Morris Funeral Home 746-2451 Toll Free 1-866-746-2451

Our deepest sympathy to you as you mourn the loss of your dad. We always appreciated him very much. We really enjoyed having him help us a number of years with the corn harvest. You will miss him very much but may God be very near to you at this time of sorrow. - Posted by: Fred & Helen Rempel (Family) on: May 19, 2005
