Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryERNEST GORDON GERALD "ERNIE" STEVENS Passed away peacefully at Fairview Home, Brandon, MB on Wednesday, May 18, 2005 at the age of 95 years. He is survived by his loving wife of 69 years, Marion; his daughter Marilyn Williams (Joe) of Stuttgart, AR and his son Gordon Stevens (Mary) of Calgary, AB; his grandchildren, Randy Erwin (Andrea), Dr. Steven Erwin, Dr. Scott Erwin (Janette), Heather Dyson (Jay), and Andrea Stevens (Tyler); his great-grandchildren, Rachel and Mary Elaina Erwin, Halle Erwin, Paul and Grace Dyson. He is also survived by his brother Fred ( Fern) of Glenboro, MB. He was predeceased by his parents, Russell and Agnes Stevens; his brother William (Marian) and his sister Gwen Sanford (Fred). Ernie was born in Fleming SK, May 8, 1910. He married the love of his life, Marion on September 14, 1935. Ernie owned and operated Stevens Drug Store in Minnedosa until 1968. While in Minnedosa, Ernie was very active in the community. He was Past Master of the Masonic Lodge, Past President of the Rotary Club, member of the Elks Lodge and the A.O.T.S. He served on the school board, was a member of the United Church and played saxophone and clarinet in the Minnedosa Band. After the sale of his pharmacy, he worked at Clinic Pharmacy in Brandon for several years. Ernie loved his family and especially enjoyed spending time with them at the Stevens summer home at Clear Lake. The funeral service will he held at Memories Chapel, 330-18th Street North, Brandon on Saturday, May 21 at 10:00 a.m. Arlene Robertson will officiate. Interment will follow in Rosewood Memorial Gardens. If friends so desire, memorials may be made to the Canadian Bible Society, 952 St. Mary's Road, Winnipeg, MB R2M 3R8.
