RAYMOND COOKE It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Raymond "Chick" Cooke, our beloved husband, father and grandfather, on May 19, 2005, at the Health Sciences Centre. He leaves to mourn and cherish his memory his wife of 40 years, Beverley; his children, Jeffrey (Karie), Colleen (Raymond), Trevor, Charlene (Joshua); grandchildren, Mercedee, Brandin, Shaelynn, Kieran, Julian, Aaron, Andrew and Kai; brothers and sisters, Ian (Margaret), Bette-Anne (Jacques), Blair (Eileen), John (Kathy), Monica (George) and sister-in-law Marlene; Aunt Gwen and Uncle Odel; mother-in-law Stella Herda; brothers-in-law, Ken (Diane), Gerald (Marlene) and Allan (Donna); numerous nieces and nephews; other family members and good friends, especially Rob; as well as Ray's puppy dog, Scoochie. Raymond was predeceased by his father Alfred; mother Alice; brothers, Allan Ducky and Kelly; father-in-law Andrew Herda and brother-in-law Richard Herda. Raymond was an unselfish, giving person who always put others before himself. He touched many lives and anyone who had him as a friend could always count on him to be there for them, no matter what. The family would like to express special thanks to all the doctors, nurses and staff on D4 and the Dialysis Unit at the Health Sciences Centre for their care and compassion. A memorial service, celebrating his life will be held on Tuesday, May 24 at 10:30 a.m. at the Transcona Funeral Chapel, 1800 Day St., with Rev. Jeff Cook officiating. Interment to be held at a later date. If friends so wish, memorial donations may be made to the Kidney Foundation. Transcona Funeral Chapel in care of arrangements.
