LLOYD CECIL DOWNIE After a lengthy illness, Lloyd passed away on Wednesday, May 18, 2005, at the St. Boniface General Hospital. Remaining to cherish his memory are his wife Joan, of 49 years; daughter Leslie; son-in-law Craig; grandson Scott of Calgary; brother Wilfred of California; sisters, Verna and Thelma of Winnipeg; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Lloyd was predeceased by his parents; brothers, Wally, Ralph, Donald; and sister Mary. Lloyd served in the R.C.N. during the Second World War and was employed for many years with London Life Insurance Co. and latterly, upon retirement, for several years with The Canadian Corps of Commissionairs, until overtaken by poor health. Lloyd enjoyed a long association with Pine Ridge Golf Club and The S.P.B.Q.S.A. In accordance with Lloyd's wishes, no formal funeral service will be held.
