ELEANOR ALMA SCRIVENER December 2, 1907 - May 18, 2005 Eleanor Alma Scrivener, widow of Graham Scrivener, passed away peacefully on May 18, 2005. She is survived by her loving sons, Harvey (Carole) of Salt Spring Island, BC, and Bernard (Elaine) of Burlington, ON; two grandsons, Glen (Kelly) Scrivener, great-grandson Sloane of Winnipeg, Colin (Rochelle) Scrivener, great-grandson Chase of Burnaby, BC; and three granddaughters, Monica Scrivener of Burlington, ON, Yvette Scrivener (Allan Barnfield), great-granddaughter Lainey of Peterborough, ON, and Kate Scrivener of Winnipeg; one sister Gwen Browning of Moorpark, CA; and sister-in-law Maureen Harvey of North Vancouver, BC. Eleanor was predeceased by her parents, Harold and Lillian Harvey; by her husband Graham; and by her brothers, Stan and Ken Harvey. Eleanor grew up in Kamsack, SK, and came to Winnipeg to attend business college. She met Graham Scrivener in Winnipeg and they married and enjoyed 53 years together before Graham's death in 1987. Eleanor was involved as a community volunteer with the Middlechurch Home, St. George's Anglican Church, Junior League of Winnipeg, Girl Guides and St. John's Ambulance. She and Graham spent summers and most of their retirement at Falcon Lake. After Graham's passing, Eleanor resided at The Wellington where she enjoyed many friendships and the security of the excellent, caring staff. Special thanks from the family go to Dr. Sandy Smart for his years of superb care, to Geri Lowe, Sr. Executive Director, The Wellington and to special friends Frieda and Sharon. Funeral service will be held 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 25 at St. George's Anglican Church, Crescentwood, 168 Wilton St., Winnipeg, MB R3M 3C3, the Rev. Canon Tony Harwood-Jones officiating. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to the St. George's Memorial Fund, Inc. or to a charity of choice. THOMSON FUNERAL HOME 669 Broadway is in care of arrangements, 783-7211.
