MURIEL ALICE JURGENS 1911 - 2005 Peacefully, on May 18, 2005, Muriel Alice Jurgens passed away in her 94th year. Our dear mother, grandmother and great-grandmother will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by her son Ted (Barb) Jurgens; daughter Karen Couch; grandchildren, Peter (Christine), Jane (Mark), Mark and Kari; precious great-grandsons, Joshua, Matthew, Noah, Justin and Dylan. She was predeceased by her husband Ivar; sister Edna and son-in-law Philip Couch. Muriel was born in Brandon on September 18, 1911 the daughter of Edward and Alice Abraham. In her younger years she was a much admired dance instructor and an avid golfer and skier. It was on the ski slopes that she met her beloved Ivar and they were married on June 19, 1940. Muriel was a loyal and dedicated member of the IODE Wildwood Chapter and a long-time member of the Fort Garry ladies bridge club. The family is grateful for the wonderful care provided by Golden West. A special thank you to the nurses and staff of the 5th floor for your kindness and compassion. A memorial service will be held in the chapel at Golden West Centennial Lodge, 811 School Rd. at Ness Avenue, on Tuesday, May 24 at 2:00 p.m. If friends desire, memorial donations may be made to Golden West Centennial Lodge, 811 School Rd., Winnipeg, MB R2Y 0S8.
