JOE HUYWAN Peacefully after a brave battle with cancer, Joe passed away at the Health Sciences Centre, on Wednesday May 18, 2005 at the age of 74 years. Joe was born on May 12, 1931 in Broad Valley, MB where he lived and farmed all of his life. Joe leaves to mourn his three sisters, Ann Marcyniuk (John) of Hodgson, MB, Mary Struc of Winnipeg, Jean Struc (Nick) of Winnipeg and many nieces, nephews, cousins and one very special Aunty Mary Kowalyk. Joe was predeceased by his mother Magda (January 1987); father Paul (June 1988); and brother John (June 1987). His brothers-in-law, William Chymy (November 1962), Sam Struc (January 1985); niece Shirley Taylor (June 2004) and nephew Collin Hicks (September 2003). Joe was a gentle, easy going, generous man with a remarkable memory. He always thought of others before he thought of himself. If you were in need of help or advice Joe was always there. A patient man, he was the one who taught his nieces and nephews how to drive, play bingo and pull a car out of the mud. Joe had an indescribable sense of humour. He could make you laugh with his quick wit and body actions. As a bachelor you could always count on a spread of bologna, hot dogs, kielbasa, Klik and instant Maxwell House coffee when you went for a visit. His door was always open. The family wishes to thank his doctors and all the staff at the Cancer Care and Health Sciences Centre for their care. Cremation has taken place and interment will be at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made, in memory of Joe, to CancerCare Manitoba or a charity of one's choice.
