THOMAS (TOM) NELSON SHEAD It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Tom beloved husband, father, son, brother, uncle and friend who succumbed to cancer on Monday, May 16, 2005 in Vernon, BC. Tom leaves his beloved family, wife Ethel of Vernon; daughters, Railene and Natasha of Edmonton; his mother Ruth; brothers, Bill (Lynn), Dick (Sharon) and Joe (Frankie) all of Selkirk, MB; sisters, Patricia Grove (Jim) of Hamilton; and Barbara of Calgary; as well as many nieces and nephews. Tom was predeceased by his father Harry in 1990 and his brother Harry in 1996. Tom served in the Canadian Air Force as a Master Warrant Officer for 30 years. On retiring from the Canadian Forces in 1990 he worked for Spar Aerospace in Leduc overseeing major overall of large aircraft. When he left the company a few years ago he established his own company and managed major refits of aircraft internationally. He will be missed on the golf courses and in aircraft hangars in North America, Europe and Southeast Asia. He made many lasting and loyal friendships with his golfing buds and all those who worked with him to keep aircraft airworthy and safe. Bethel Funeral Chapel, 5605 27th St., Vernon, BC V1T 8Z5 (250) 542-1187 will forward messages of condolence to the family. A memorial service is planned for Leduc, AB after the May long weekend. Contributions to the Canadian Cancer Society or another charity would be preferred in lieu of floral tributes. A daughter's farewell: It is sad that he had to go so soon and in this way. My dad Tom is in less pain and looking down on all of us and making sure we are ok. Tasha
