JAMES HAYWARD It is with deep sorrow we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father and grandfather Jim on Thursday, May 19, 2005 at the age of 78 with his family by his side. He was predeceased by an infant son shortly after birth, parents George and Elizabeth; brothers, Fred and Dave; sisters, Anne, Jenny and Nan. He is survived by his loving wife of 43 years Mary; daughters, Judith (Jose), Janice (Djon); beautiful granddaughters, Jessica and Raquel; brother Les (Margaret); sisters, Betty Woods, Eva Rey (Bill); brother-in-law Joe Johannson; sister-in-law Joan Hayward; many nieces, nephews, special friends Monty and Madeline Asham and many friends from the No. 1 Legion. Dad was born in R.M. Coldwell, MB and lived in Lundar, MB for many of his younger years before moving to Winnipeg. He worked on the Dew Line and for PCL Construction until his retirement. He was a gentle man with a keen sense of humour, a love for gardening and a great sports fan. He always loved a cup of tea in his favourite spot at the kitchen table. He had his share of health problems but always came out a fighter. A wonderful father who would do anything for his girls. His grandchildren were the apple of his eye as he loved spending time with them. Sincere thanks to Health Sciences Centre staff for the care and compassion shown to dad during his final days as well as the 1st floor staff at Central Park Lodge Nursing Home. Memorial donations may be made to the Parkinson's Society of Manitoba, 204-825 Sherbrook St., Winnipeg, R3A 1M5. A memorial service will be held Wednesday May 25, 2005 at 12:30 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. with interment and reception to follow. He only Takes the Best God saw you getting tired, And a cure was not to be, So He put His arms around you, And whispered, Come to Me . With tearful eyes we watched you suffer, and saw you pass away. Although we loved you dearly, We could not make you stay. A golden heart stopped beating, Hard working hands to rest. God broke our hearts to prove to us He only takes the best. We love you; you are in our hearts forever Arrangements entrusted to: CHAPEL LAWN FUNERAL HOME CREMATION AND RECEPTION CENTRE 885-9715
