Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryGERTRUDE LOIS (BABE) ASHCROFT (nee MEYERS) Peacefully after a short illness on Friday, May 20, 2005 at Seven Oaks Hospital, Gertrude Ashcroft passed away at age 89 years, dearly beloved mother of Grant and Glenda. Bedsides her children, Mom leaves to cherish her memory her devoted daughter-in-law Pat, who was with her everyday and was there to hold her hand at the end. Also surviving are her many grandchildren, Warren (Marie), Wendy (Bruce), Guy (Terry), Joy, Michael, Lori (Kevin), Jodi (Brad); and great-grandchildren, Blake, Kirk, Branden, Carlie, Brandy, Royce, Jordan, Justin, Stephanie, Eryc, Tyler, Tanner, Leigh and Lauryn. Mom is also survived by her loving sister Meryl Martin and many nieces and nephews. Gertrude was born in Expanse, SK and came to Winnipeg at six years old. She worked at Eaton's for 30 years and loved to bowl, knit, crochet, read and do her crossword puzzles. A special mention to her dear friends Vivian and Ed Coulter, who were always there for her. Gertrude was predeceased by her husband Leslie (Huck) in 1983; brothers, Cecil in 1996 and Thomas (Bud) in 1959; son-in-law Maurice (Champ) in 1987; sisters-in-law, Ethel Meyers in 1996 and Annie Meyers in 1991; brother-in-law William (Bill) Martin 1992. In accordance with Gertrude's wishes, cremation has taken place and no formal service will take place. Donations may be made in Gertrude's memory to the Seven Oaks Foundation.
