He will be lovingly remembered by his family, his wife Elizabeth; son Daniel; daughter Deborah (Keith) Martin and grandsons, Evan and Derek Martin; sister Coraleigh Tymchak (Calgary) and sister Shirley (Ed) Querengesser (Edmonton); many nephews, nieces, in-laws and friends. He was predeceased by his mother Augusta (nee Trapp) in 1972; father Emanuel in 1977; and brother Arthur in 1990. Wes was born on August 28, 1928 in Benton Harbor, Michigan. The family moved back to Canada and lived in the Greenwald area. He later resided in Winnipeg and graduated from Daniel McIntyre Collegiate. He joined Trans Canada Air Lines (Air Canada) in 1948 and retired after 41 years of service. In 1972 he received a Canadian Industrial Management Degree from the U of M. Wes was an active member at St. Peter's Lutheran Church, and later at Sherwood Park Lutheran Church. He became involved in the many aspects of the work of the church. Although he was quiet by nature, he always enjoyed the family togetherness and fellowship with friends. He always thought the best of a person. He loved travelling, following many sports teams, and was fond of reading Historical novels. Viewing will be on Friday, May 27, between 11:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. at Neil Bardal Inc., 984 Portage Ave. (Aubrey Street entrance), followed by a committal service at Chapel Lawn.
