Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryRENATA JUDITH VICTORIA SIEMENS Passed away quietly to her final reward on May 22, 2005 at the Finlay Pavilion located next to the Peach Arch Hospital, White Rock, BC in her 97th year. Surviving her is her youngest sister, Mrs. Dorothy Hawkins of Aylesford, NS. Renata was predeceased by two brothers, Frank and Laurence and four sisters, Mary, Annie, Caroline and Eleanor. Renata was born as the first white child in the community of Renata, BC and was named after her place of birth. Renata felt called to religious service. After a religious education, she took medical field training and when she was 20, she left for the mission field in Africa under the auspices of the Pentecostal Assemblies of Canada. In all, Renata spent 35 years as a medical Missionary in Northern Manitoba, Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda. Renata returned to Canada at the time of the Ugandan revolution and retired to White Rock, BC in 1975. Although she returned to Canada, her heart always remained in Africa. She was well loved and will be missed by her remaining family members and her missionary associates. A funeral service to celebrate Renata's life will be held on Friday, May 27 at 3:00 p.m. at Victory Memorial Park Funeral Centre, 14831 - 28th Ave., Surrey, BC. Reception to follow.
