JUNE CHURKO (WARD) June 16, 1923 - May 23, 2005 It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of our Mom and Grandma, at the Victoria General Hospital at the age of 81. She will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by her daughter Terry (Richard) Trager, Saskatoon, and their son Curtis; her son Roger (Susan), and their children, Zane and Randi; her brother James Ward; many nieces and nephews, and in-laws. She was predeceased by her husband Zigmunt, in February 2005. Mom had a heart of gold, was always there for others and never asked or demanded anything for herself. She loved her many pets throughout the years and most recently her dog Skip who she would walk many times a day, stopping to chat with all her neighbourhood friends. Mom loved bowling, shopping and her weekly trips to Salisbury House. Mom was such a loving and caring Wife, Mom and Grandma. She will be fondly remembered for her kind heart, love of life, and beautiful smile. Mom lived for the times spent with her family. The family would like to thank Dr. Penner, Dr. Tomy, Mary, Debbie, and the staff on the 5th floor of Victoria General Hospital. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 28, at 10:00 a.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. In lieu of flowers donations made be made to the Winnipeg Humane Society, 5 Kent St., Winnipeg, MB R2L 1X3.
