Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryFLORENCE VICTORIA KEEBLE (nee NYBERG) August 16, 1914 - May 25, 2005 Florence Keeble, widow of Kempton Keeble and mother of Kempton Corey Keeble died peacefully at Winnipeg's Victoria Hospital on Wednesday, May 25 three months short of her 91st birthday. The youngest of five children born to Swedish immigrants, she was predeceased by a sister Barbara; and by three brothers, Carl, Alfred and George. Born in Port Arthur, ON, Florence attended local schools, graduating from Port Arthur Collegiate Institute, and receiving recognition for her abilities as a pianist from the Royal Conservatory in Toronto. Like many of her generation she lived through the worst of the Great Depression of the 1930s. In 1938, she married Kempton Keeble, and shortly after moved with him to Winnipeg. There, aside from a brief hiatus back in Port Arthur, they lived out the rest of their lives, celebrating their 60th Wedding Anniversary in 1998. After her husband's death in 2002, she continued to live in the family apartment until 2004, when she moved to the Misericordia Health Centre. With her husband, Florence was a devoted and loyal member of Winnipeg's Crescent Fort Rouge United Church, to which they belonged from the early 1960s. Like many women of her generation, Florence dedicated her life to being a good wife and mother. She was known for her infectious sense of humour, and for her spectacular success in the culinary arts. With her husband, she became an avid golfer, enjoying the sport for its sense of companionship and for the sheer pleasure of being outdoors. Among her most remarkable gifts was her sense of fascination with every aspect of the world around her. In her last years she enjoyed the presence and genuine friendship of professional care givers ranging from home care workers to the staff of the St. Boniface Hospital, Misericordia Health Centre, and the Victoria Hospital. To them, and to family, friends, neighbours, clergy, members of her church, and her husband's fraternal organizations she felt a deep and abiding respect and gratitude. As much as she could, she lived her life in the spirit of the kind of wife and mother eulogized in Proverbs 31: A good wife who can find? She is far more precious than jewels... Strength and dignity are her clothing, And she laughs at the time to come. She opens her mouth with wisdom, And the teaching of kindness is on her tongue. * Rest eternal grant unto her O Lord. And let light perpetual shine upon her. May she rest in peace. A memorial service will be announced at a later date. NEIL BARDAL INC. 949-2200

Dear Corey: My maiden name is Mona McLean, we lived in the Ella Apts. the years your parents lived there. I last saw your parents at my Mother's funeral in 1988. I remember how pleased I was to see them. Fondly I think of our Mothers, sitting in our kitchen--enjoying tea---there was much laughter when together. How lucky you were to be able to enjoy your Mom for so long. May your special memories comfort you at this time. Sincerely Mona McDonald - Posted by: Mrs. Mona McDonald (Acquaintance) on: Jun 01, 2005
