MARY ELIZABETH SITKA (EIERS) Peacefully on May 25, 2005 Mary aged 85 years of Selkirk left to join her beloved husband Walter. Leaves to mourn her loss and cherish her memory her son Ron (Vi); daughter Claudia; granddaughter Debbie (Burt); grandson Terry (Lydia, Amanda); great-granddaughters, Crystal (Lenny), Shianne; great-grandson Danton; and great-great-granddaughter Amora-Belle. She was predeceased by her parents, Katherine and Franz Eiers; sister Christina Atkins (Jack); stepbrother John Eiers; sister Theresa Wait (Ralph); and brother-in-law Norris Vandall. Mary was born in Berlo, MB on February 4, 1920. She later moved to Winnipeg, then married Walter and resided in Selkirk. She worked at both Old and New Selkirk General Hospital and the Selkirk Mental Health Centre labs. Mary thought the world of the lab staff. She spent many enjoyable years at Dorothy Lake, where she had good times with friends. Mary loved Bingo and was always ready and eager for a good card game. She enjoyed trips to Shooting Star and Winnipeg casinos. A celebration of Mary's life will be held on Friday, May 27, with prayers at 5:00 p.m. in the Gilbart Funeral Chapel, Selkirk Funeral service will be on Saturday, May 28, at 11:00 a.m. also in the chapel with the Parish clergy officiating. A special thanks to Home Care, special nurse and close friend Sandy Hamm, nurses, doctors and lab staff at Selkirk General Hospital and other caregivers.
