Many nieces and nephews. Henry's love of life was his family. Henry was born Thursday, November 15, 1928 at Camperville, MB. Henry cherished the outdoors and was employed for 30 plus years in the fishing industry with Keystone Fisheries then with Freshwater Fish Marketing Corporation in The Pas until he retired. He had great respect for the waters which provided life and livelihood to the people of Northern Manitoba. The waters which he traveled on will miss his advocacy, but will be carried on through the generation he left behind to be stewards of this gift. He was a very big man with the deepest blue eyes and the humblest and gentlest of hearts. He saved many lives in the cold unforgiving winters as he traveled across the north in his blue bombardier. One of his most famous of rescues resulted in a made for TV movie, to which his only comment was, that's not the way it happened . He was a great hunter who provided for his family and for tables across Manitoba. American hunters sought him out to guide for Moose and other big game. No sooner, after retirement, as he missed the outdoors did he obtain seasonal employment with Ducks Unlimited to return to the places he enjoyed. Often one could see Henry by peering over the local bridge; under a large plume of smoke you could see the Myndy-J chugging down the Saskatchewan River with a barge load of equipment. Captain Henry DeLaronde has been called by our Creator to steer his ship home to join his loving Wife and Sons who have been waiting for him. God's speed Dad. Viewing and visitation were held Friday, May 20, 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Cathedral.
