Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMICHAEL BUDNER Suddenly on May 28, 2005 at Parkview Place, Michael Budner at the age of 84. Michael is lovingly remembered by his niece Gail Davies, her husband Stuart, his nephew-in-law David Olivier, sister-in-law Alice Budner of Calgary and numerous nephews and nieces. Michael was born on a farm on August 26, 1920 in Springfield, MB where he spent his early years with his six brothers and sisters who have predeceased him. He spent the early part of his life working as a brick layer and later became a butcher which he worked at until his retirement. In December of 1941 he reported to Osborne Barracks and was later assigned to Nanaimo, BC and eventually Camp Shilo in Manitoba. He was discharged in 1945 and returned to the farm where he remained for most of his life until moving into Donwood Manor in 1998. Michael was a devote Baptist and pronounced his strong conviction to his faith often. He enjoyed his time and companions at Donwood Manor and would often join in the exercise programs or games offered there. Michael had a great outlook on life and he could often be heard whistling or singing as he ventured down the hall. Funeral service will be held at Thomson in the Park Funeral Home, 1291 McGillivray Blvd., Winnipeg on Wednesday, June 1 at 1:00 p.m. The family would also like to thank the staff of Parkview Place for their kindness and care to Michael during his short stay there. Flowers are gratefully declined but donations may be sent to the Canadian Diabetes Association, 102-310 Broadway, Winnipeg, MB.
