Also left to mourn his passing are six grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his sisters-in-law, Phyllis Williams and Mildred McGill. He was predeceased by his parents, wife Mae; son Dale; brothers, Jack, Ken, Ross and Harvey and his sisters, Ruth and Jean. Born on October 21, 1909 and raised and educated in the farming community of Forbes, the land soon became his passion and it continued to be his passion until his death through the interest he took in today's farmers and the stories he shared with others of his early years growing up on the farm. He could relate what crop was grown on what field and what the weather was like on any given year. Charlie was very involved with the community by actively taking part in the Co-op, Credit Union, Pool Elevator, CCF/NDP, 100F Lodge, United Church, Drop-in Centre, Victoria Park Lodge, Hospital Board and the Congregate Meal Program. Burial was in the Souris and Glenwood Cemetery on April 22 followed by a memorial service in St. Paul's United Church with Rev. John Oldenkamp officiating. Pallbearers were Chad Berry, Kevin Berry, Ryan Bossart, David Doyle, Scott Hainsworth and Dustin Williams. Dad, There's a special kind of feeling, That is meant for you alone. A place within my heart, That you can only own. There will always be sadness, And often a silent tear. But always special memories, Of the years I had with you. Bette
