JOHN (JACK) FRANKLIN GRAHAM John (Jack) Franklin Graham, born July 13, 1919 in Langruth, MB, passed away peacefully on May 22, 2005 after a lengthy illness and with family at his side. Jack is predeceased by his mother Nina, father Harry, brothers, Doug, Stuart and sister Marilyn. He is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Valerie. Sons, Michael (Natasha) of Grand Prairie, AB, daughter-in-law Heather Graham; Richard of Hope, BC. Daughters, Suzie (Gary) Derrett, Sharon (Alan) Moyes, grandchildren, Darren (Tammy) Graham, Carmen (Michael) Bryan, Liam Graham of Grand Prairie, Lucas Graham, Dasha Graham, Lorilee (Joey) Mudarri of Seattle, Tammy (Steve) Laughlin, Dayna Yelland, Shannon (Steve) Sayers, Jonathan Jarvis, Daniel Graham, Jacob Johnson, sister Betty Allan of Stonewall, MB, as well as 16 great-grandchildren. Jack was a colourful local character who originally moved to the coast from Manitoba and made an impromptu entrance into the world of standard-bred harness racing through connections he made at his Stampede Feed and Tack business in Cloverdale. As a former car dealer, tack shop owner and ex-army captain, he made his first venture into racing in 1965. In 1990 this native Manitoban along with his horse Invincible Shadow were both inducted into the Canadian Horse Racing Hall of Fame. Jack was most at home at a horse sale and some of his most crafty purchases are legendary. Special thanks to the nurses of Crescent Gardens of Surrey for the compassionate care they provided our precious Jack. Funeral services will be held on Monday, May 30 at Fraser Heights Chapel, 14835 Fraser Highway, Surrey. A public visitation will be held at 9:00 a.m. with services to follow at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Jack may be made to the Parkinsons Society of British Columbia. Until we meet again, Toodaloo Fraser Heights Chapel 604-589-2559
