JEANNETTE ALARIE (nee CHAGNON) In the footsteps of the Lord, she faithfully served others. It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of our wife, mom, and memere, Jeannette Alarie, on May 25, 2005, at the Victoria General Hospital at the age of 78 years. She was a devoted wife, dependable sister, loving mother and grandmother. Jeannette will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Paul, her six children and their spouses, nine grandchildren and one great-grandson: Pauline Alarie; Cecile, Harry and William Skene; Maurice, Odile, Dawn (Michael Crouch), Chad, and Lee Alarie; Annette, Ronald, Coleen (Michael and Finley Oman), Adam, and Nathan Chevrefils; Diane Alarie; Denise, Ian, Connor, and Nolan Cyr. She will be sadly missed by her two brothers, Leo (Marguerite) and Armand (Roma) Chagnon; her two sisters, Leah (Jerry) Sharpe and Yvonne Berthelette; other members of the Alarie and Chagnon families and many friends. She is now reunited with her mother, Marcelline; her father, Donat; and with her brothers and sisters, Stan and Ben St. Croix, Beatrice Cyr and Alice Chevrefils. Jeannette was born near Lac du Bonnet on July 13, 1926, lived most of her life in the Powerview area and her later years in St. Vital. Mom enriched the lives of her family and of all those around her with her love, dedication, faith, generosity of spirit and strong family values. She never forgot a birthday or an anniversary. Visitors always brought her pleasure and there was always room for company at the family table. The Alarie Family wishes to express their heartfelt thanks and appreciation to family and friends for their support and to the staff of the Victoria Hospital for their dedicated service in the past months. Cremation has taken place. Funeral services to celebrate Jeannette's life will be held in Powerview at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Association for Community Living, Box 1222, Stonewall, MB R0C 2Z0, to support the building of a community residence for people living with an intellectual disability. Sobering Funeral Chapel Crematorium, Beausejour, in care of arrangements. Come good and faithful servant and receive the reward that has been prepared for you.
