DAISY MACKAY Peacefully on May 26, 2005 at the Hunter Memorial Hospital in Teulon, Daisy Mackay, aged 99 years, of Petersfield, MB. Daisy was born in Austria and came to Canada in 1914. She met and married Alexander Mackay and they lived in Winnipeg and Brandon before moving to Petersfield in 1937. She lived with her daughter Florence after Alex's death in 1990. Daisy enjoyed crocheting, sewing, gardening and especially times spent with family. She was predeceased by her husband Alex; a son Melvin; daughters, Irene Chambers and Eleanor Husluk; granddaughter Cathy Kisiloski; and sisters, Helen, Ruby, Margaret and Eileen. Left to cherish her memory are daughters, Joyce Kisiloski (Tom) and Margaret Palmer of Winnipeg, Florence Skwarek of Petersfield and Audrey Hebert (Maurice) of Clandeboye; one son John (Donna); one brother Arnold Langner of Edmonton; sister Emma Bowker of Victoria; sister-in-law Alice Fisher; 35 grandchildren; 68 great-grandchildren and nine great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and friends. A viewing will be held on Monday, May 30 at 7:00 p.m. in the Gilbart Funeral Chapel, Selkirk. Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, May 31 at 2:00 p.m. also in the chapel with Dr. Henry Ozirney officiating. Interment will follow in the Dunara Cemetery. Grandsons will be her pallbearers. Special thanks to the doctors, nurses and staff at the Hunter Memorial Hospital, where donations may be made in Daisy's memory, in lieu of flowers. I will always remember Grandma's huge garden. I never did climb down into that root cellar but it stored everything to feed a large family all winter long and into the next spring. - Posted by: John Mackay (Grandson) on: Dec 31, 2013
