HELENA HOLTZ (nee WALL) 1909 - 2005 Following a lengthy, courageous battle with ill health, Lena passed away peacefully at the Tabor Home in Morden, MB with her loving family by her side. Born in the Letellier area on December 5, 1909, she departed this world on May 27, 2005 at the age of 95. She is survived by three daughters, Inette Asmundson of Piney, MB, Evelyn and Ralph Otto of Ashern, MB, Myrna and Oscar Coyle of St. Albert, AB; one son, Jim and Yvonne Holtz of Airdrie, AB; 12 grandchildren and three generations of great-grandchildren. Her family was the joy of her life. She was predeceased by her husband, Adolf (1987); one son at birth; one stepson; two stepdaughters; three sons-in-law; two grandsons. She was also predeceased by her parents Cornelius and Helena Wall and nine siblings. In 1939, Lena married Adolf Holtz and settled in the Dunston area where they raised their family. In 1960, they retired to 13th Street in Morden, where they lived till Adolf moved to the Salem Home in Winkler. Lena then moved to the Legion House Apartments where she enjoyed life for 20 years. Due to ill health, she moved to the Tabor Personal Care Home in 2001. She always claimed that she could not ask for a better place to be. Many thanks to the staff and volunteers at the Tabor Home. The one thing she missed after retiring from the farm was the animals which she loved dearly. Lena was very creative. She was well known for all the stuffed animals she made and sold worldwide. Public viewing will be at the Wiebe Funeral Chapel at 1050 Thornhill Ave., Morden on Monday, May 30 from 1:00 to 1:45 p.m. A celebration of life will immediately take place at 2:00 p.m. at the Wiebe Funeral Chapel with Gary Braun officiating. Internment will follow at the Hillside Cemetery in Morden. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Tabor Personal Care Home, 239 9th St. South, Morden, MB R6M 1Y3.
