EVERT WALTER LAMBERT On Monday, May 30, 2005 at home with family by his side, Evert peacefully completed his life's journey in tranquility. Left to cherish his memory are his wife Drew; sons, Larry, Danny, Brian (Jan); daughters, Leanne Dion (Dave), Wendy Osioway (Gord); grandchildren, Tristan Lambert, Jim Lambert (Judy), Michael Mager (Leanne), Jason Mager, Darren Lambert (Monique), Shannon Lambert, Tamara Labarre (Aaron), Lance Dion, Russell Dion, Dawnett Surminski (Brian), Ross Osioway (Katherine), Aaron Osioway (Brittany); 12 great-grandchildren; sisters, Elsa, Alice, Ruth and many nieces and nephews. Evert was born on August 8, 1916 in Inwood, MB and raised in the Hodgson area. In 1942 Evert joined the R.C.A.F. serving his country as a Flying Officer in the W.A.G. section during the Second World War. His overseas posting was North Atlantic Squadron #162 R.C.A.F., based at Reykjavik, Iceland. On August 29, 1942, he married Drew Davis. After the war Evert returned to Hodgson where he farmed and raised his family. Evert enjoyed a full life with a great love for his family, the outdoors, carpentry and was always active in his community. Evert was a Life Member of the Royal Canadian Legion joining Hodgson Legion #158 and later transferring to Stonewall Legion #52. He was also a member of Viking Lodge #175 and St. James Chapter #25 O.E.S. Funeral services will be held Friday, June 3 at 2:00 p.m. at MacKenzie Funeral Chapel, Stonewall, MB, Rev. Kenn Garrity will officiate. Pallbearers will be his seven grandsons, Jim Lambert, Lance Dion, Ross Osioway, Michael Mager, Russell Dion, Aaron Osioway and Tristan Lambert. Honorary pallbearers will be Walter Pruss, Mary-Ann Pull, John Klimpke, Stan Davis, Willie Williamson and Ken Finch. The family wishes to thank the Stonewall Home / Palliative Care team, Dr. John Mohamdee and Dr. Ken Thorlekson. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Evert to Thorlekson Cancer Research Foundation (Health Sciences Centre Foundation), Stonewall Palliative Care, Church of the Ascension Stonewall, MB or a charity of one's choice.
