Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMOLLY COHEN (nee KOPLOVICH) Molly passed away peacefully on May 15, 2005, at the age of 83 years. Molly was born in Calgary on June 21, 1921, and moved to Winnipeg as a young child. She was a child of the Depression, an experience that greatly influenced her perspective on life and her commitment to social justice. Molly married Nathan Cohen in January, 1942. While Nathan served overseas, Molly worked in Winnipeg's garment industry during the Second World War. After Nate's return from the war, they began a family. Molly was a devoted and loving wife and mother. She worked tirelessly to support her family in all their endeavours. With the goal of enriching her family's life, Molly went to work at the Hudson's Bay. She was employed there from the early '60's through the early '80's. In retirement, Molly and Nate traveled and wintered in Tucson, Arizona. They also visited their children and grandchildren while continuing to spend time with family and friends at home in Winnipeg and elsewhere in Canada. Following Nate's passing in 1993, Molly continued to visit family and winter in Tucson. Molly will be lovingly remembered by her son Allan of Toronto; her daughter Sandra of Philadelphia; her son-in-law Alex and grandsons, Oran and Eyal. She is also survived by her sister Rickey Furman of Edmonton; her brother Charles Koplovich of Winnipeg and many nieces and nephews. Molly was predeceased by her sister Leah and brother Mickey. Funeral services were held on Tuesday, May 17 at Etz Chayim Synagogue in Winnipeg. In Molly's memory, donations may be made to the Manitoba Heart and Stroke Foundation, 6 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB R3C 0K6.

Condolences & Memories (1 entries)

Leah, Karen and I were shocked to hear Aunty Molly had passed away. We have fond memories of Molly, since she kept in touch, both before and after Al's death. Typically Molly insisted on calling ME because it was cheaper. Molly was always a part of our family; we hope that wherever she is, she's with her beloved Nate and she knew how fond we were of her. What charity was she partial to? What address should be used for notification of a donation in her memory? Our sincere condolences to you both and to the rest of your relatives. - Posted by: Donna Miltchin (Family) on: Jun 20, 2005
