CECILIA (SIS) EMMA ROBERTSON (nee HUNT) It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our aunt, great-aunt and second mother to many, Cecelia (Sis) Robertson. She died peacefully at the Golden Door Geriatric Centre on Sunday, May 29, 2005, at the age of 91. Sis was born on August 23, 1913 in the Rathwell district, to John and Annie Hunt. She was the second of seven children and the first girl. The family later moved to Starbuck and then Sanford, MB. Upon her marriage to Lancely Robertson they moved to the Treherne area where they farmed for many years. They later sold the farm and moved to Winnipeg. She was predeceased by her parents, Annie and John; her husband of nearly 50 years Lancely; her brothers, Clarence, Bill and Al; and her sister Louisa Gibbons. Sis enjoyed a long and full life. She loved the outdoors, gardening, taking walks and especially attending any family events. She loved children and babysat for years from her home, later becoming a foster mother. She became a Cub leader and was Akela for many years. Her house was always open and there was always room for another plate or two at the dinner table. Sis loved company and visitors always brought her pleasure. Summers would bring a string of nieces and nephews for week-long holidays or sleepovers. She will lovingly remembered and sadly missed by her sister Phyllis Parker, her brother Ted Hunt and her numerous nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews and the many other kids who called her Auntie Sis. We would like to thank her many friends, especially Art and Chiara Petkau and Marvin Amot for making sure she was safe and comfortable. The family would also like to thank the staff of the Golden Door Geriatric Centre for attending to her needs and Dr. Jayne and the staff of 3 North, Victoria Hospital for their kind support. Funeral service will be held on Friday, June 3 at 1:00 p.m. at Thomson In the Park , 1291 McGillivray Blvd. A reception will follow. Interment will take place at Waverley Memorial Gardens, following the reception. Pallbearers will be nephews, Blair Gibbons, John Hunt, Wayne Robertson, Wright Parker, Brian Hunt and Doug Hunt. Donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or CancerCare Manitoba. We love and miss you, Auntie Love Cathy, Don, Ryan, Blair, Martha, Scott, Shane, Lee, Dale and Bev.
