Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryKATHERINA (TINA) PENNER (nee THIESSEN) After a full life of 91 years and 7 months, our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother went to be with her precious Lord and Saviour on May 29, 2005. Mom was born on October 15, 1913 to Jacob and Katharina (Fleming) Thiessen near the Steinfeld School District. When her dad died young, at age 13 she left home for good and found employment in order to help support her family. This was a hard time for her and, in later years, she was always sympathetic when anyone in the family experienced homesickness or loneliness. In 1932 she married Dad (Bernhard E. Penner). She was predeceased by Dad on June 8, 2000, and by one daughter, Anna, on December 14, 2003. She is survived by eight children, Doreen (Jim Baker), John (Esther), Harry (Hilda), Walter (Doreen), Ed, Ben (Deanna), Margaret (Ken Wiebe), Lorne (Irene); son-in-law Brian Wiebe; as well as her many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. Also surviving are one sister Mary (Albert Pauls) and two brothers, Philip (Tina) and Peter (Elmira). Mom was a kind and compassionate person, and for 67 years the perfect helpmate for Dad. All of us children remember her for her patience and gentle demeanour throughout her entire life - a considerable accomplishment given the task of raising nine very active children. She had a very deep faith in Jesus Christ and her greatest desire was for each of her children to know Him on a personal level. She was a prayer warrior and always kept her family in her prayers. She was a person who truly portrayed the love of Christ, by the way she treated each one of us. She enjoyed a good joke; her sparkling eyes often gave away the humour or joke before she chose to unveil it. Mom lived most of her life in the Lowe Farm area until 1985 when she and Dad moved to Winkler. Then, due to Mom's failing health, they moved to the Red River Valley Lodge in Morris in October of 1999. The family would like to extend our thanks and appreciation to the staff of the Red River Valley Lodge for the excellent care they gave Mom these last five and a half years. If friends so desire, donations may be made in Mom's memory to the Red River Valley Lodge, Box 507, Morris, MB R0G 1K0. The funeral service will be held at the Lowe Farm Emmanuel Gospel Church on Friday, June 3 at 2:00 p.m. with interment in the Lowe Farm Cemetery. There will be viewing at Morris Funeral Home on Thursday from 2:00 to 7:00 p.m., and at the church prior to the service. MORRIS FUNERAL HOME 746-2451 Toll Free 1-866-746-2451
