FERNANDA MARIA DA SILVA OLIVEIRA It is with deep sadness the family announces the passing of our dear wife, mother, and grandmother, Fernanda Oliveira at the St. Boniface Hospital at the age of 66 years. Fernanda leaves to mourn, her husband Alberto; daughters, Maria (Kenneth), Manuela, Ann-Paula (Richard) and Julie; grandchildren, Brittni, Justin and Serafina; sisters, Candida, Lidia and Teresa and many other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her parents, Julio and Maria Fernandes da Silva. Fernanda was born on August 22, 1939 in Calheta, Sao Jorge, Acores, Portugal. She married Alberto dos Santos Oliveira on January 27, 1957 and came to Canada, settling in Winnipeg in 1966. Fernanda took great pride in her children and grandchildren. She was a very giving and compassionate woman with incredible strength and determination and love for the little things in life. Her family will always remember her warm, caring eyes and joyful laughter. We will miss her terribly and love her very much. The family wish to thank all the staff at St. Boniface Hospital for all their kindness and care and all of our supportive family and friends. Prayers will be held on Wednesday, June 1 at 7:30 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, June 2 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Alphonsus Roman Catholic Church, Munroe and Brazier with Brother Jorge Villegas, OFM, Cap officiating.
