EMIL GEORGE NAUJOKS
Date of Passing: May 29, 2005
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryEMIL GEORGE NAUJOKS On May 29, 2005, peacefully, with his family by his side, Emil George Naujoks, aged 73 years, passed away. Left to cherish his memories are his loving children, Rita (Robin) Henderson, Ruby (Darrell) Grymonpre and Richard (Michelle) Naujoks; and six grandsons, Dylan, Kyle and Marcus Grymonpre and Scott, Brendan and Riley Naujoks. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews and by a large extended family. He was predeceased by Irene, his loving wife of 47 years; and by his sister Martha Kitsch. Born in Lithuania, Dad came to Canada in 1948. As a young immigrant, he worked several odd jobs some taking him as far as British Columbia. He met the love of his life, Irene, in Winnipeg in 1950. Their love endured long distance relationships by romantic love letters. They were married on May 23, 1953. He gained permanent employment with Canada Packers Ltd. and later Kornovski Keller Construction Company. It was his experience in the construction industry and his desire for entrepreneurship that inspired him to start his own business, Centennial Wire Products Ltd. in 1960. Mom and Dad worked long hours bending wire in the basement of their home on Centennial Street and the company has since flourished into a successful family business. Dad was a gifted musician who played the accordion for the Merry Melody Band and shared his musical talents at many family gatherings including campfires at Twin Lakes Beach. For many years Dad was a member of the Shrine with the Khartum Ruff Riders. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and was always proud of the game he brought home 'to provide for' his family. Dad loved to travel with the family and we have many fond memories of these wonderful holidays. Dad was the most generous, loving and kind individual. Anyone who met him appreciated his love for life and friendship. Since Mom's passing he lived at the place he loved the most, Twin Lakes Beach, where he had so many friends and family who were always there for him. You can shed tears that he is gone, or you can smile because he has lived. You can close your eyes and pray that he will come back, or you can open your eyes and see all he has left. Your heart can be empty because you can't see him, or you can be full of the love you shared. You can turn your back on tomorrow and live yesterday, or you can be happy for tomorrow because of yesterday. You can remember him and only that he is gone, or you can cherish his memory and let it live on. You can cry and close your mind, be empty and turn your back, or you can do what he would want, smile, open your eyes, love and go on. The family would like to thank the compassionate staff on the H4, HOB unit at Health Sciences Centre. Pallbearers will be Dylan Grymonpre, Scott Naujoks, Garry Grubert, Rudy Kitsch, Darrell Grymonpre and Robin Henderson. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, June 3 at St. Peter's Lutheran Church, 65 Walnut St., Pastor Heimo Bachmeyer officiating. Interment will follow in Brookside Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Dad's memory to the Heart Stroke Foundation, 6 Donald St., Winnipeg, R3L 0K6. THOMSON Funeral Home - 669 Broadway - 783-7211

Ruby, Rita & Richard, Our hearts are with the 3 of you and your families. The beach just won't be the same without Emil there to give me a hard time, which was always given in jest and taken the same way. God rest his soul. J D - Posted by: Jeff & Cristine Douglas (Friend) on: Jun 12, 2005
