EDMUND MYSZKOWSKI Peacefully on May 30, 2005 in Heath Sciences Centre, at age 56, with his family at his side, Eddie passed away after a courageous struggle to recover from a tragic accident that occurred on January 8, 2005. Eddie will be lovingly remembered by his wife Helen; daughter Leslie (Donald); son Corey; step-son Michael (Wendy); and step-daughter Lisa; grandchildren, Anna and Bryn, Morgan and Hannah and Chrissie; mother Alfreda Myszkowski; sisters, Terry (Allan), Kris and Helena; brother-in-law John; sisters-in-law, Margaret (Bob), Irene (Greg) and Linda (Warren) as well as numerous nephews and nieces and many cherished friends. He was predeceased by his father Walter in 1974 and by two infant siblings. Ed was born in Hann Munden, Germany on June 13, 1948 where he lived until his family immigrated to Canada (Winnipeg) in 1954. Ed worked at a number of jobs before he started his career with Winnipeg Transit in 1972, where he worked till his retirement in September of 2000. His greatest treasures in life were his family and especially his grandchildren. Papa spent many happy hours playing with them. Ed was the type of person who would pitch in and help whether invited or not and lend a hand to friends and family alike. He was a very generous and giving man to all those he knew. He will be sadly missed in countless ways by all of us. Rest now Dad, Papa, Ed, Uncle, your struggle is over, we will love you forever and always. God Saw Him Getting Tired God saw him getting tired, And a cure was not to be. So He put His arms around him And whispered, Come with me. With tearful eyes we watched him suffer And saw him fade away. Although we loved him dearly, We could not make him stay. A golden heart stopped beating, Hard working hands to rest. God broke our hearts to prove to us, He only takes the best. A memorial service will be held on Friday, June 3, 2005 at 10:00 a.m. in Thomson In the Park Funeral Home, 1291 McGillivray Blvd. A private family interment will be in Elmwood Cemetery. Honorary Pallbearers: Francis Cook, Frank Pearce, Warren Atchison, Allan Woods, Bob Danylchuk and Greg O'Dell. The family wishes to extend their thanks to the dedicated doctors and nurses at the Health Sciences Centre for their care and compassion. Flowers are gratefully declined. Donations may be made in memory of Ed to the Arthritis Society for Ankylosing Spondylitis Research, 105-386 Broadway, Winnipeg, MB R3C 3R6 or to the Health Sciences Centre Foundation for Spinal Cord Research, 820 Sherbrook St., Winnipeg, MB R3A 9Z9.
