RAYMOND D. THIBODEAU Peacefully in the early morning of May 31, 2005, cherished husband, father, grandfather and friend Raymond Thibodeau passed away at the age of 70. Ray was born on March 9, 1935 in the town of Vita, MB to Marie Thibodeau (nee Baron) and Archie Thibodeau but grew up in Piney, MB. Among many things, he enjoyed travelling on the open road and he worked for many years as a long haul trucker. Even until he was recently admitted to hospital, Grandpa Ray could still be found sporting his trademark trucker's cap. Before retiring in 1998, he had been employed with Versatile for 27 years. Ray was a keen fisherman and he enjoyed tossing out a line or two at Lac du Bonnet and Catherine Lake. Ray leaves behind his wife Donna Thibodeau of 10 years; sons, Cliff (Valerie), Joe (Bridgette), Dan (Chris) and Barry; daughter Sherry; brothers, Gerald (Florence), Morris (Diane) and Derris (Maria) as well as his close cousin Vi. His beloved grandchildren, Lisa, Shawn, Melissa, Andrea, Adam and Selena as well as great-grandchild Renee will also miss his wonderful sense of humour and great hugs. Funeral service will be held on Friday, June 3 at 10:00 a.m. at Bardal Funeral Home, 843 Sherbrook St. Ray's family thanks the staff at Concordia Hospital for their care during his stay and in lieu of flowers, invites those wishing to make a donation in his name to please contact the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba, 6 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB R3L 0K6 or the Manitoba Lung Association, 629 McDermot Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3A 1P6. From this shore You have sailed away Towards a place We cannot see And cannot touch, But we still feel you Every day Within our hearts Where you will stay.
