WALTER FRANK BROWNING 1942 - 2005 Peacefully on Wednesday, June 1, 2005 Walter passed away at home with his loving family by his side. Walter is survived by his wife Tannis; son Michael; daughter Tara and husband Kyle and daughter Vicki, husband Guy and granddaughter Nicole; mother Min Hicks; parents-in-law, Mary and Ted Havelock; relatives, Jim and Karen Havelock, Linda and Wayne Zino, Don and Arlene Zino; as well as many other friends and loved ones. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Walter loved his work at Red River College. His 25 years in Computer Services were a source of joy in his life. Before his illness Walter proudly helped develop the new downtown Princess Street Campus and loved to tell stories to his family and friends of its progress. He enjoyed puttering and doing chores around the house - in particular rebuilding the old garage, collecting stamps and creating stained glass work. Walter loved his dogs. He taught obedience classes, showed English Springer Spaniels and was a proud member of the Manitoba Sporting Dog Association. The family wishes to thank Dr. Pat Harris and the staff at Grace Cancer Care, Dr. Shahida Ahmed at Cancer Care Manitoba and, Dr. Janice Mulder and all the wonderful Palliative Care Staff. He was treated with kindness, dignity and respect for which we will always be grateful. In keeping with Walter's wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no formal service. Friends and loved ones are always welcome to call and drop in for coffee. The well wishes Walter received during his illness were of great comfort to him. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the following: Cancer Care Manitoba, 1160-675 McDermot Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3E 0V9, telephone 787-4143; WRHA Palliative Care Fund at A8024-409 Tache Ave., Winnipeg, MB, R2H 2A6, telephone 237-2400. We were saddened to hear of Walter's passing. I remember running our dogs together at Little Mountain Park, and learning about showing Springers as I attended a few shows with Walter. He was a very fine person, and he shall be missed. - Posted by: Chris & Myrna Miles (Friend) on: Jun 16, 2005

I had the opportunity to work occasionally with Walter at Red River. He had great ideas and much integrity. He will be sorely missed. - Posted by: Kit Wilson (Co-Worker) on: Jun 07, 2005
