Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJEAN PERCHALUK It is with great sadness that the family announces the sudden passing of Jean Perchaluk of Rossburn, MB on May 19, 2005 at the age of 72 years. Jean Perchaluk (nee Michaluk) was born in Ethelbert, MB on April 15, 1933. She received her schooling in the Gilbert Plains area and in Yorkton. In 1950, she married Walter Percahaluk of Sclater, and were married for 42 years. In 1955, Jean and Wally moved to Rossburn, which became home, when they purchased the People's Store. During their 42 years of business, she was known for her never-ending smile and willingness to help those in need. She had a love for people and always had time for a visit with her customers. It was the people that she missed most when she retired and sold the store in 1997. She worked many hours in the store but she tried to be involved as much as she could in the Catholic Women's League and the Hospital Auxiliary which she had attained a lifetime membership. She liked things to be simple and never wanted anyone to fuss over her. She was a kind, caring and generous person who was non-judgemental and treated everyone equally which was very important to her. She was a friend to all. She had a wonderful sense of humour and loved to have a laugh. She had enormous strength and was the glue that held the family together. She was always willing to support her family in whatever decisions they made. Family was so very important to her and nothing made her happier than to have them near. She was a wonderful mother and an excellent role model. She loved being a Baba, nothing gave her more pride, than when she attained the status of the Great-Baba with the birth of her great-grandson, Carson. She took on life's challenges, always trying to keep a smile on her face and accepted what was dealt her way. Her strong faith guided her to overcome her challenges and face her adversities no matter how difficult with a positive attitude and outlook. Jean will lovingly be remembered by her son Larry of Winnipeg; daughter Theresa and her husband Bob Robert of Esterhazy, SK; daughter Patti and her husband Daryl Chegwin of Vista; grandchildren, Jacquelyn and her husband David Low of Winnipeg and their son Carson, Jonathan Robert of Yorkton, Chad Chegwin of Vista, and Tara Chegwin of Brandon; her brother John Michaluk of Brandon; her sister Anne and her husband Anton Burdeniuk of Gilbert Plains; sister-in law Anne Michaluk of Gilbert Plains; the Perchaluk family and numerous nieces and nephews. Jean was predeceased her husband Walter; parents, Alex and Mary Michaluk; brother Russell Michaluk; her uncle Steve Peristy; and sister-in law Sadie Michaluk. The funeral service was held on Monday, May 23 from the Sacred Heart of Jesus Ukrainian Catholic Church in Rossburn. Interment followed in the parish cemetery. Fr. Vlodymyr Bachustskyy officiated. Pallbearers were her nephews, Richard Burdeniuk, Isadore Burdeniuk, Gary Michaluk, James Michaluk, Don Michaluk and Jim Perchaluk. Crossbearer was David Negrych. Honorary pallbearers were all those whose life she touched. We will hold all our fond memories of this special lady in our hearts forever. She had a love for angels and now she is one.
