Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryCARTER LARRY GUNDERSON April 2, 1945 - June 2, 2005 It is with deep sorrow that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved husband, dad and grandpa, Carter Gunderson, at the age of 60. Left to cherish his wonderful memory are his wife and soul mate Linda, his beloved daughter Diana (Dean) and his precious grandchildren Drew and Amy Iwanoczko. Also mourning his loss are his brothers Edward, Lloyd (Pat), Donald (Irene), Dennis (Judy), Raye (Beverly) and Murray; sisters Donna (Ronald) Cayer and Carol (Ron) Bolin; in-laws Garden and Florence West; sister-in-law Sandra (Al) Smuttell; brother-in-laws Rick (Lorraine) and Robert West and Victor Erickson. Carter was predeceased by his parents Clarence and Laura, sister Esther Erickson and brother-in-law Jim Kowalchuk. Carter was born on April 2, 1945 in Vita, MB and grew up on the family farm in Piney. His appreciation and love of the outdoors was established at an early age while working on the farm and cutting cord wood with his family. Carter was employed by the City of Selkirk for 28 years, retiring in 1998. He then went back to what he loved best, spending many hours outdoors trimming trees and cutting grass. He took great pride in a job well done! Carter's world revolved around his girls. He and Linda spent 39 wonderful years side by side. As best friends, they spent their time visiting, working together, travelling and raising their daughter Diana. As a family they shared a precious bond and Carter adored his daughter with an unending love. Linda and Diana meant the world to him. He was blessed with two grandchildren, Drew and Amy whom he absolutely cherished. Grandpa Carter was a huge part of their lives and hardly a day would go by, without a visit and a treat. His love for his entire family knew no bounds. Carter enjoyed socializing with family and friends. Whether it was at the local coffee shop, or an unexpected knock at the door, Carter loved to drop in and enjoy a visit. He was a friend to all. A celebration of Carter's life will be held on Tuesday, June 7 at 11:00 am at the Selkirk United Church, 202 McLean Ave., Selkirk, MB. Cremation has taken place and a private family internment will take place prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Carter's memory to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba, Suite 200, 6 Donald St. Winnipeg MB. R3L 0K6 or to a charity of ones choice. May we find comfort in precious memories knowing he is forever in our hearts. Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk in care of arrangements.
