JOSEPH ALEXANDER EKOSKY November 3, 1937 - June 1, 2005 It is with deep sorrow that the family announces the passing of Joseph Alexander Ekosky. After a lengthy illness with cancer Joe passed away with loving family members at his side. He leaves to mourn his loving brothers, Larry, Peter, Paul, Dan and Mike and son Louis. His sisters-in-law, Margaret, Carol, Lyn, Angie and Bonnie. Also many second and third generations of nephews, nieces and friends. Joe was predeceased by his parents, Joseph and Olga and sisters, Yvonne and Irene; brothers-in-law, Harvey and Chuck. Joe worked as a heat and frost insulator and asbestos worker, local 99 and sheet metal worker for 45 plus years, travelling to many places in Canada and the US doing a job he loved. In his free time he spent many happy hours hunting and fishing with family and friends. Melita and Gympsumville were two of Joe's favourite places where he loved to spend time. Joe was a man who always thought of others and would also help you if need be. He liked shopping but would always buy for others and seldom for himself. Joe was the one who always kept in touch with everyone, Joe was the glue that held the family together. He will be sadly missed. Cremation has taken place. A memorial will be held on Saturday, June 11 at 11:00 a.m. at Glen Eden Funeral Home, 4477 Main St., interment will be in the Memorial Gardens and a reception to honour and remember Joe will follow. The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses from Palliative Care and the Home Care workers for their care and compassion during Joe's final days. Flowers graciously declined, donations in lieu can be made to CancerCare MB. GOD SAW YOU GETTING TIRED God saw you getting tired, When a cure was not to be, He closed His arms around you, And whispered, Come to Me . In tears we saw you sinking, We watched you fade away, Our hearts were almost broken, You fought so hard to stay. What you suffered, you told us few, You didn't deserve what you went through. Tired and weary, you made no fuss, But tried so hard to stay with us. But when we saw you sleeping, So peaceful, free from pain, We could not wish you back, To suffer all that again. So treasure him Lord, in Your garden of rest, For here on earth, he was the very best. God Bless You, Amen.
