DENISE TURENNE (nee CHAMPAGNE) April 23, 1941 - June 5, 2005 After a brief battle with cancer, Denise passed away peacefully at home at the age of 64 years. She was predeceased by her husband Lucien; her parents, Raymond and Helene Champagne; and by her brother Emile; and sisters, Laurence, Betty, Eveline, Cecile, Annette, Lorraine and Rosemarie. Denise is survived by her four children, Diane (Warren), Jeannette (Morris), Paul (Kelly) and Marc (Alanna); grandchildren, Robert, Darren, Gabrielle, Mara, Devon, Kendra, Daniel, Dawsyn; and one great-grandson Jordan. She also leaves her brothers, Rene, Leo (Ev), Ron (Shirl); and sisters, Terry (Roger), Jeanine (Guy), Anita; many friends and relatives. Denise was known to her friends as Big Mama. She spent many years as secretary for the St. Eugene bowling league. She enjoyed doing many different kinds of crafts in her spare time. Over the years, Denise babysat many children. A celebration of Denise's life will be held on Thursday, June 9 at 10:30 a.m. at Desjardins Funeral Chapel, 357 Des Meurons St. The family wish to express their sincere thanks to Dr. Navaratnam, Dr. Leylek and the Palliative Care for their excellent care. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to CancerCare Manitoba, 675 McDermot Ave., Room ON1160, Winnipeg, MB R3E 0V9 (phone 787-4143).
