ARMAND VERMETTE 1932 - 2005 Armand Vermette passed away at the Douglas Fir Hospital in Kelowna, BC, on Sunday, May 15, 2005. He was born in St. Jean Baptiste. When he got married in 1950 he spent close to 20 years as a successful chicken and grain farmer. Looking for new challenges, in 1969 he moved with his family to Kelowna where the winters were milder. He began his new career as truck driver for Sun Rype Co. until he retired in 1997 after 28 years of service. He loved spending time with his family and was an avid hunter and fisherman. During the last eight months he learned to accept living with cancer, gradually letting go of his strength and activities. Through faith, Armand kept on hoping in a new Life with his loving and merciful Lord. Armand will be remembered be Emilienne (Audette) Vermette; his three loving daughters, Gisele Woods of Kaslo, BC, Paulette Braddeen of Rutland, BC and Suzanne (Mick) Woods of Westbank, BC; seven grandchildren, Michelle, Jason, Angelique, Chad (Cheryl), Chawn, Chantelle, Katlyn; and two great grandchildren, Cloe and Kelsey. He also leaves three sisters, Agnes s.n.j.m., Fernande m.o. and Irene (Gabriel) Ritchot. He was predeceased by his parents Philippe and Bertha (Touchette); seven brothers, Andre, Clovis, Ovide, Lucien, Roland, Gerard (4 years old) and Gerard; three sisters, Alice (Beaudette), Yvonne s.n.j.m. and Annette (Marion). He had a special spot in his heart for his nephews, nieces and all those he met. The funeral mass was celebrated at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Westbank, BC. Interment of ashes in the local cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to the care if Hansons' Arbor Funeral Chapel, Westbank, BC.
