DAVID ROBERT MCPHEE After a brief battle with cancer, David slipped peacefully into the presence of his Lord with family at his side on Sunday, June 5, 2005 at the Health Science Centre. David was born on March 3, 1946 in Glasgow, Scotland. At the age of 16 he received the Lord Jesus as his personal Saviour. He immigrated to Canada at the age of 19 where he met and married Verna Knowles in 1967. Together they built a very happy and loving home for their two daughters, Julie and Sherilyn, their family and their many friends. He was a very devoted husband, father, Papa, son, brother and a true friend. David loved the Assembly and dearly enjoyed the fellowship of the people at the West End Gospel Hall. In 1985 David opened the door of McPhee Industrial Products Ltd., a business he has successfully managed and has now grown throughout Western Canada. His most recent joy came from his seven grandsons, Morgan, Carter, Caeden, Peter, Jared, Aaron and Jonathan. Papa was always sharing stories about his boys to everyone he met. David was predeceased by his parents, Peter and Elizabeth McPhee; and his father-in-law William Knowles. He is survived by his loving wife Verna; his daughters, Julie (Garry) and Sherilyn (Norman); his grandsons; four siblings, Betty (Jimmy), May, John and Peter (Sue); mother-in-law Doris Knowles; sisters-in-law, Shirley (Wayne), Donna (Bob) and Ruthie (Jack); and his many nieces and nephews. The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to Dr. Richard McCammon for his devoted care and love to David, his wee Scottish friend. A special thanks is also extended to the exceptional staff on GB3. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, June 9 at 12:00 p.m. at Westwood Community Church, 401 Westwood Dr., with fellowship to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to CancerCare Manitoba or to Loloma Mission Hospital care of Truth and Tidings or Gospel Perpetuating Foundation. Arrangements entrusted to: CHAPEL LAWN FUNERAL HOME CREMATION AND RECEPTION CENTRE 885-9715 Family and friends are invited to sign the Book of Condolence at www.chapellawn.mb.ca.
