Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryWINNIFRED HILDA FOSTER (nee LEE) February 16, 1919 - June 5, 2005 Peacefully, on Sunday, Winnifred passed away at the Middlechurch Home of Winnipeg at the age of 86 years. She was predeceased by her parents Ernest and Jessie Lee; husband Herbert Charles Foster; one daughter; three brothers and one sister. She will be sadly missed by son Robert (Beverly) Foster; daughters, Cheryl (Allen) Dusome and Linda (Dennis) King; nine grandchildren, Kerri, Robyn (Shayne), Justin (Andrea), Colleen (Tim), Michael (Teresa), Cathy (Nick), Stephen, Kenneth and Shelly; two great-granddaughters, Kayla and Megan; sisters, Elsie, Olive (Jack) Nicholson; and many nieces and nephews. Winnifred was born and raised in the West Kildonan area. She married Herbert and raised their family in North Winnipeg, and was very proud of her family and her heritage. She was a long time member of St. Anne's Anglican and St. Barnabas Anglican Churches and sang in the choirs. She belonged to different Auxiliaries and clubs (including the 40+ Club) and was very involved in Girl Guides and Scouting. Winnifred's passion was her family, as well as gardening, shopping, carpet bowling, bingo, tea, and playing the piano and organ. She also enjoyed travelling to Thunder Bay, Saskatoon and British Columbia. Her grandchildren and great-granddaughters were her pride and joy. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, June 9 at 1:00 p.m. at St. Barnabas Anglican Church, 730 McPhillips St. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, donations may be made in Winnifred's memory to the Middlechurch Home of Winnipeg, 280 Balderstone Rd.
