SUZANNE ELIZABETH LATIMER (nee LYON) It is with deep regret that we announce the peaceful passing of Suzanne Elizabeth on Monday, June 6, 2005 in Winnipeg. She will be lovingly remembered by her children, son Bill and Karen, daughter Kimberley, husband Hugh and grandson Daniel. As well, her step-mother Ina Lyon, brother Robert and Helen Lyon, sister Ruth and Bob Baker, brother Stephen and Barbara Lyon, her favourite aunt Joan and many nieces and nephews in Ottawa as well as extended family in Montreal and Florida will mourn her passing, but celebrate her life. Mom was predeceased by her mother Elizabeth Dorothy Lyon (nee Walker), and father Elwood Robert Lyon. Mom's greatest joy was her children. She spent many happy hours volunteering at the schools, helping us with our school work and projects and showing us what being a caring and devoted mother means. Later, she enjoyed a successful career as an administrative assistant with the Fort Garry School Division and the University of Winnipeg. She made a valuable contribution and her company was greatly enjoyed by her coworkers. Mom valued the many close friendships she established at work and in the community. While Mom travelled extensively and had seen much of what Mexico, Hawaii and Europe had to offer, she always loved telling stories about the good old days with her family and old friends in Ottawa. We want to thank the staff at the Rosewood Village, Victoria Hospital, the Fort Garry Care Centre and we cannot forget Dr. Klaponski of the St. Boniface Hospital, for their care for Mom and support to the family. A memorial service will be held at the Thomson In the Park Funeral Home, located at 1291 McGillivray Blvd., Winnipeg, on Friday, June 10 at 7:00 p.m., with a reception to follow. Interment to be held at a later date, in her home town of Ottawa. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Manitoba, 120 Donald St., Unit 10, Winnipeg, MB R3C 4G2.
