HUGH ROBERT KENNEDY It is with deep regret that we announce the passing of Hugh Robert Kennedy, on Friday, June 3, 2005, at his residence in Winnipeg, MB, at the age of 66 years. Remaining to cherish his memory are his brother William Kennedy (Carol); sisters, Janet Komarechka (Harold) and Elizabeth Benson, both of Sudbury, ON; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends; and his beloved pet cats, Squeaks and Haggis. Hugh was predeceased by his parents, William and Jessie Kennedy. Hugh spent many happy times at his cottage in Grindstone Provincial Park at Black's Point with his friend, Vivian Moore. He was employed for 35 years as a Draughtsman with the City of Winnipeg, Planning Department. Hugh was an active member of the St. Vital Historical Society Inc. and was the editor of the Newsletter of the Society. In compliance with Hugh's wishes, no formal funeral service will be held. A gathering of family and friends to celebrate Hugh's life will be held on Friday, June 10 from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the home of his brother Bill, 386 Arthur Wright Cres., in the Maples area. As an expression of sympathy, in lieu of flowers, donations in Hugh's memory may be made to The Winnipeg Humane Society, 5 Kent St., Winnipeg, MB R2L 1X3.
