GEORGES JOSEPH BELANGER January 15, 1928- June 6, 2005 After a courageous battle with cancer, Joe passed away peacefully at the Selkirk General Hospital. Joe will be greatly missed by his loving wife of 53 years, Mabel; his daughter Ginny Belanger; his grandchildren, John and Vanessa Sobkovich; his brother Edward Belanger (Lorraine); his sister-in-law Alice Belanger, of Selkirk; as well as his sisters, Margaret Belanger, Mariola Krut, Marie Lavallee, and Merilda Belanger of Winnipeg and Harriette Beaudry of Victoria, BC. Joe was a good and generous man. A good husband, dad and papa. His life revolved around his family, church and community. His talents as a plumber, painter, all around handyman and accountant were always cheerfully offered to anyone who needed them. Memorial mass will be held Saturday, June 11 at 10:30 a.m. in the Notre Dame Roman Catholic Church, Selkirk with Fr. Boguslaw Wardzinski officiating. Interment of ashes will follow in the Parish Cemetery. Joe cared deeply for his fellowman, so therefore we ask that in lieu of flowers, please donate to the Canadian Cancer Society - Manitoba Division, 193 Sherbrook St., Winnipeg, MB R3C 2B7.
